Price for 2024-25 academic year: £68.50

The Teen Nutrition School is delighted to launch a Vegetarian version of our flagship DofE Nutrition and Healthy Cooking Course, fully accredited for the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze or Silver Award, Skills section.

This fully online 13-week course is designed to empower teens to make healthier food choices, by providing a fun and fascinating introduction to the science of nutrition, and teaching the invaluable life skill of cooking healthy and delicious meals. Each week, students will have access to a multimedia presentation covering a range of practical nutrition topics, from how to read a food label, to managing stress through diet, with a particular emphasis on how to have a healthy and balanced vegetarian diet. In addition, there are units on food safety, knife skills, and other kitchen basics. Each week, students will also have a vegetarian recipe to prepare, with full instructions, photos and videos to help. Please visit the curriculum page for full details.

On booking the course, participants are given access to our online platform, where all course materials can be found. Students can start anytime, and work from the comfort of their own home, at their own pace and at a time convenient to them, uploading their work upon completion. To test their understanding of the course materials, each unit will include a short online quiz or assignment, and students will also be asked to submit photos of their completed recipes.

Ideal for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze or Silver Award, this course is also suitable for anyone who would like to obtain a certificate to evidence their knowledge of nutrition and skills in healthy cooking.

We welcome students with SEN and are happy to make suitable adjustments. Please email jenny@teenfood.org prior to booking so that any necessary adjustments can be set up promptly.
